Instagram announced Thursday that the carousel ads option it debuted in the U.S. in April will be extended to six more countries June 1.

The Facebook-owned photo- and video-sharing network initially announced carousel ads in March, saying that they allow users to swipe through a series of photos in one ad.

Starting June 1, carousel ads on Instagram will be available in the U.K., Canada, Australia, Germany, France and Brazil.

Instagram said in a post on the Instagram for Business blog:

Earlier this year, we introduced a new way for brands to tell deeper stories and share more images with people interested in their posts. We call them carousel ads, and they provide advertisers with more flexibility in telling their stories by allowing people to swipe left on an ad to see additional images and link to a website of a brand’s choice to learn more.

Meanwhile, the momentum of carousel ads in the U.S. has continued with dozens of new campaigns, including one that just launched from GMC that featured a panoramic interior view of the new Sierra.

Instagram also offered examples below of carousel ads from Canada, Brazil and France, followed by the GMC Sierra ad mentioned above.
